Venus Cazimi Today at 16° Capricorn

Today, Venus is Cazimi at 16° Capricorn which is a fancy way of saying it is exactly conjunct the Sun. When a planet is 40 minutes of being within the heart of the Sun. This is considered a time when the planet's energy is at its most perfectly balanced and combined with that of the Sun. Capricorn energy is ambitious, strategic, willing to climb mountains to achieve their goals, authoritarian, tends to run cold, and is connected to the government and ruling entities. Traditional astrologers would say that Venus is Combust meaning that the rays of the Sun is burning up Venus' light and energy making her less powerful and bringing out the bad qualities of her nature. Right now, if you were to look for Venus (and Mars which we will get into) in the sky, she would be invisible because her light is being burned up by the Sun. Venus would tend to be more harmed by this Combustion than Mars. On January 7th, tomorrow, Venus will be conjunct Mars in the sky, and then on January 9th, Mars will be Cazimi and while Venus is opposing Jupiter in the sky all at 19° while Jupiter opposes in Cancer at 20°. Sun (ego/identity) conjunct Mars (ruled by the god of war) brings about passion, desire, and drive, but also aggressiveness, anger, impatience, defensiveness, fear of competition and frustration with sexual desires. This could also bring about resentment, jealousy, violence, impulsiveness, cuts, and burns.

Sun conjunct Venus (ruled by the goddess of love, relationships, and finances) brings about trouble with love and relationships, feelings about beauty and feeling beautiful, jealousy and envy, possible shadiness towards others because of a harder time being able to give and receive love, and a harder time being able to balance the scales of peace and harmony. Venus can be sexually demanding, overly sexual/sensual, vengeful, volatile, greedy, and intense. Venus (love) conjunct Mars (war) brings love and sex to a boil which can be good and bad. It can intensify relationships which are in a good place but put relationships which are in a bad place over the top with jealousy, hate, anger, competition, and incompatibility. This can also manifest in people as poor self-control, impulsiveness, a lack of compassion, loss of temper, selfishness, cruelty, revenge, rape, violence, and accidents. To top all of that off, we have Jupiter opposing it all at 20° Cancer which just like a pressure cooker on the whole situation because Jupiter expands and grows anything it touches being the planet of growth and expansion. Cancer energy is emotional, maternal, family-oriented, very changeable in nature. So, all of these feelings and energies in the sky and air are just being magnified by Jupiter! Jupiter enlarges and makes everything that much bigger so if something is already in a bad way, Jupiter is just going to make it 10x worse. I would highly suggest getting out and spending some time in nature to clear your head, spending time getting physical, maybe at a gym or martial arts or something constructive like that to release some of that pent up energy. Do something Venusian and craft something. Do anything that will help you take your mind off of the internal (or external) conflict that is going to be happening for about two weeks.
